Direct Rail Services and Russell

Direct Rail Services (DRS) based in Carlisle has successfully expanded their intermodal service in partnership with Russell a leading Scottish-based road logistic company. This twice a day return service from Daventry to Coatbridge will further enhance DRS expanding market share in rail transportation of fast moving consumer goods.
Both partners in the project were eager to incorporate the rail transport solution into their businesses and hope to gain from the economic, environmental and performance benefits on offer.
DRS will be running two of its Class 66 for this contract and is confident that the performance and reliability that the company is renowned for will allow them to offer Russell a first class service.
DRS Commercial Director, Chris Connelly said: “We have always enjoyed a good relationship with Russell and this is a good opportunity for DRS to provide high quality, reliable and timely service which the company’s reputation is built on”.
